WWII Nose Art Pictures
Here are a few pictures of aircraft nose art from WWII. Interestingly enough, the practice of nose art, putting personalized decorations on fighting aircraft, originated with Italian and German pilots during WWI. Although the practice dropped off some after the Korean War, it has seen a revival in some of our recent missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
